05/08/05 - Another happening week... firstly there was James Wilson's party on Saturday, which was completely amazing! Check out the pics, they are so cool, especially James with the fire dancing, I can pull off a few cool affects with that camera... Other major news in regards to me, I will be spending longer than expected in Malaysia. I won't be able to do both Care Work and Teaching on one three month placement so I now have to do two three month placements. Plus all the travelling that I want to do, that will total to about seven months that I will be in South East Asia. And, of course, I will keep you all updated, whether you're on any forums that I'm on, or people I know the e-mails of, or just regular members to this site, I hope I'll be able to keep you informed of what I'm up to. I also hope to try and put a few pics up on the net (I'll probably use this web space as a storage area in case I happen to lose my camera, photos are more precious). One final note, congratulations to my Uncle, Aunty and Cousin (Andy, Sonja and Thomas) on the birth of their new daughter, Lucy Alice Fryer... 12/08/05 - I've had my first set of immunisations for Malaysia so far. I think I had Hepatitis B for the first go, but I need three more of those, and a heap of other injections for all the other wonderful diseases that lurk in the jungle. Still waiting for some more information on my Malaysia trip, something was supposed to come through the post this week but it appears to have not so far. Will keep you updated next week... I now have Namibia photos up, three years after I went. My camera busted due to 'sand intake' whilst out there, so it would be worth showing the other half of the trip, even if it wasn't through my eyes. I hope to have the 'Work in Progress' section relatively empty before I go away, so there's no updates that will be forever 'in progress' during my trip. The Namibia Bonus pics should be fine, but I don't know about the Best pics section. I'm going to be taking heaps of photos in Malaysia, so there's going to be a great deal of additions I expect when I return. I may try and add some photos which I decided not to publish on some sections. Turns out there was a really good one from New York which never got on my site. But this is also low priority, but I may get it done before I go to Malaysia. With Sim Productions, I may try and squeeze one little media project in before I go, but no guarantee. I haven't actually played The Sims 2 since SimsBB ended, mainly as I've been busy with sorting Malaysia. With regards to BBUK6, congratulations to Anthony on winning, it seemed right on him winning over Eugene... A final note, I should be seeing my little cousin Lucy on Sunday! I'll try and get a couple of pics of her. I don't think I'll put a new section on the Photography site for it, I may start posting odd little pictures I take and put them on this blog... 19/08/05 - First off for this week, I made my debut TV appearance! I was an 'extra' on BBC South East News when I went to pick up my results for my AVCE ICT course. They made a gag out of me though... they showed a flyer on the wall saying 'Don't Panic!', then they showed me looking like I was biting my nails (see picture below). So that was my one second of fame... and my results? Err... I haven't got the finalised result but hopefully I'll get an E overall. I think the media is a jinx though, for two consecutive years I had had my photo in the newspaper of me 'celebrating' my AS/A-Level results, despite the turnout being pretty dismal. Then I end up on TV, and things aren't a great deal better. As long as I get my E grade and I haven't wasted the last two years then it won't be too disappointing. Sticking with how much the media sucks and how dismal things are, the two pieces of news that have attracted my attention the most lately is the 24-hour drinking laws soon to be applied, and the Essex 'adoption' service. 24-hour drinking really is going to drive this country into the pits, to the point of no return. The British have never really been the most civil of people, throughout any period of time, but we could at least try and make some attempt to make the people of this nation a nicer bunch. Apparently having longer drinking hours will create a 'Continental-style culture' of drinking, perhaps so if we were Continental-style people, but we're far from it. Last time I went out for a 'drink' (though I don't 'drink' drink, straight edge all the way), I witnessed someone get mindlessly assaulted by a mindless drunk. That was back in December, I must certainly be an odd-ball to be a British teenager (just about) and not have gone to a pub for eight months, but some of you may know, I don't regard myself as British... Then there's the tale of Essex social services, of which the Daily Mail has conspired that the government now has a target for the amount of children taken into care (so the government requires parents to neglect their children so social services have something to do?). But as it's a very taxing job venturing onto a council estate, where neglected children literally roam the place, Essex social services decide to take the easy route (like any British Association would) and pick on 'intellectually challenged' families. So despite the children (this even being said by Essex Social Services) being properly cared for, they should be taken into care as the mother, who has a low IQ, can't adopt 'new ideas' of how to raise their children. Then on the other side of town, a single mum with eight children in a three bedroom council house lets her children play truant and vandalise the streets, whilst she's watching day time TV, smoking and getting drunk on alcohol, screaming at her kids at the mildest moment of discomfort for her, yet she's a satisfactory parent... Has anyone worked out yet that this government is screwing with us? No logical and honest person would seriously put these kinds of ideas into action into a once vastly succeeding society. It's a shame the British are also tolerant, but then they're also rapidly becoming working class (of which this government favours), so I'm guessing there's no chance in creating any anarchy, is there? Nobody want to overthrow the government like Kyrgyzstan (or somewhere in central Asia) did a couple of years ago? Screw it... I'm going to Malaysia for several months. Iran! You're free to test your nuclear weapons program in a couple of months, OK? No, I must end positively! Four weeks to go until I'm off to Malaysia, I received some more info but nothing particularly new or worth sharing on here. I got to see my new cousin Lucy on Sunday, and my over-excited other cousin Thomas. I've added a li'l pic of her, and also a few of a hot-air balloon I saw last month, onto a Blog themed Photography album. Enjoy... 26/08/05 - 20 days till Malaysia! It's so close now, most of my equipment is sorted now so all I can do now is wait... but waiting has been getting a bit boring, so I've been fiddling about with this site. The front page has now changed so it's now easier to update (as in adding and taking away icons from the home page). There's now a section for my Malaysia trip which is where I'll be putting all my updates from my trip. I'm really hoping that I'll be able to upload photos whilst I'm out in Malaysia, as if I lose my camera, I will most likely lose all my photos, which I deem to be worth more than the camera itself, probably even more valuable than my passport. Photos are not replaceable; all of my other stuff probably is... Other extra little bits round the site... there's now another 'Andrew Hart Production' of Mini Britain. More things from Huckool Productions, I'm going to try real hard to get a Sim Music Video up and running before I go. I'm going to be busy this week, but I'm free all next week, so I'll work hard at it and try and get it done before I go. I'm also going to try and get the Photography section to a satisfactory state, I mainly want to have the bonus pics from Namibia (I'm sorting through about 1000, trying to condense it to around the best 150), and there's a few bits I want to edit around with the New York section. But a new bit of Photography should be coming on Sunday as there will be another baptismal service. Five people getting baptised this Sunday... That's all for now, I'm not going to do the Best Pics section as of right now, I'm sure I'll have plenty of Best Pic candidates from when I get back from Malaysia...
