28/10/05 - After three straight bad weeks of driving myself crazy over other people's personalities, I've certainly had a much cooler week, and it's not because I went to an indoor theme park... Taman Wahyu is the coolest place ever! It's so much fun working there, it's a shame that the weekdays are going to feel a little boring as I won't be there looking after the children. I guess I'm taking for granted that I have an easy job, looking after some kids, making sure they're OK in colouring in some sheets, but I'm finally enjoying myself. I feel there's a hilarious contrast between working at Taman Wahyu and the UK. I don't think there'd be any approval of me having to work, with a twelve year-old as an assistant, in helping seventeen children for two hours in the UK. There were no contracts signed, no form filling or inspections; it's just me in a room with a load of kids. I never thought I'd actually be a teacher... Other little things, I think I could do with cutting down on the Western food. I've adapted to pretty much everything else, but I feel I need to build up some confidence when it comes to satisfying my appetite. I think as I'm not snacking enough during the day, I get hungry and want to guarantee that I'm satisfied, so I go with a more secure option of what I know, rather then experiment with something I might not like, or may only half eat. I'm not fond of wasting food or money, but I guess I could live off Cantonese Yee Mee, that's something I know I like...
