06/01/06 - Something that really annoyed me, having to forceably listen to Fly FM on the bus, was something about rap-star Nelly spending $10,000 in a brothel, then afterwards he apparently 'came to his senses' and decided to donate $10,000 to a children's charity too. The radio host seemed very supportive of this, which is what really annoyed me. If Nelly can just casually spend that much on prostitutes, then the same amount barely means much to him in giving it to charity. And then George Best gets a funeral like he was a member of royalty (though he's brought down the number of people willing to donate their livers), and that crack-whore Kate Moss is now getting a new high in the sense of modelling contracts... And one last thing with the radio, I don't EVER want to hear Black Eyed Peas - My Humps again... I seriously need to buy a new MP3 player...

Tuition classes start next week, I've got a few worksheets prepared, mainly based upon the phonics system (yes, I work with working methods, no Labour guidelines telling me what to do). It's just a case of finding the students. I'm 'barred' from the twins house, and there's a possibility I might be moving. It's easier for me to stay in Jinjang as there are a number of TW students there that I can teach, but I'm not too fond with the family I'm staying with. Trying to finalise some kind of rent bill when they borrow money off me, and when my food is taken from the fridge, it's too much hassle staying with them...

I don't know what to make of being the only white person amongst the thousands of Asians that live in Jinjang. Sometimes the attention can be a bother, especially when people follow you for the heck of it. It's crazy to have celebrity status, simply from my descendency. But even I'm starting to see something in random white people I pass. After seeing so many Asians, I'm starting to think white people look as strange and different as Asians think of them. I'm even tempted to ask them where they're from, especially if they have a British accent, but that would just be too weird...

13/01/06 - Aiyo! I seriously got to get out of this house in Jinjang, it's driving me crazy! It just seems to be nothing but problems living there. There was Pavi's mother stealing from them (which even Vinod was ignorant to), there's the mystrious dissapearance of my food which has two seperate explanations for, Abdul's sick, there's some woman the size of a ten year-old staying round the place, Vinod still hasn't paid off his debt, neither has Abdul (so it's being put on the rent), it seems like Vinod is spying on me, my name is either Mike or John, little bits of my stuff seem to move in my room, my room has some of their stuff so I have to share the space (whether I'm asleep or not), and I even had some guy change his clothes in my room. Argh! I'm a White Man, Let Me Out Of Here!

Even more weirdness, the twins and Nisha have noticed (on seperate occasions) my similarities to Mr Bean. Mr Bean may be mid-nineties stuff back in the UK, but it's relatively new over here, but I loved the show in my childhood. I don't know whether it's my use of sign language (as I can't properly talk to the kids) that makes me so like him, but it was a little alarming to know and to hear... Aiyo!!!

Atleast my tuition classes are going well, though I seem to only do well with eight year olds at the moment. Sasi seemed to fall behind whilst I was teaching him with Thavi, but atleast he didn't run away, like Nisha. But the twins are progressing well too, and there'll be benefits for me as I may be able to talk to them properly by the end of my time here...

20/01/06 - Two 'Aiyo!'s this week (Aiyo is Asian slang for 'Oh my god'). Well, I finally moved out of that house in Jinjang, but I've also moved out of Jinjang altogether and won't be allowed to move back... I'm not sure what to make of Damansara just yet (this isn't the exact same area as the Chinese school I visited), though I've been told to be careful (like all places). It's just a shame I'm not in Jinjang, I know so many families there and in Damai I only know about three... Aiyo...

And my other problem this week... Rachel... We are apparently no longer friends according to her, which I find very annoying, and a little hurtful. She has been quite bad behaved lately, always asking for sweets and not wanting to do any work, and that blasted skipping rope is starting to annoy me (and I bought it, though nobody seems to believe it). Maybe I can use it as a scolding rope instead...

27/01/06 - Drama? Wendy says that I create drama? That's certainly one of the most intriging things that I've heard. Though I have created some events and situations, I've never really meant to create drama. To be honest, I've tried to avoid it as much as possible, all I've been hoping for is to have two weeks which turn out the same, or even two days, but everything's changing in my world. Who knows, I'll probably end up having to move house again!

I'm not sure what to make of my 'beating' from earlier from a disabled girl. I think I and/or Emily might be doing some kind of work with her. Well atleast things weren't the same with Nitia earlier, it's nice how you can make friends so quickly and easily round here, though it took me time with Shamini, who loves my classes now (I wouldn't mind someone noting me on the pronounciation of Shamini. Victoria pronounces it like it's 'Shar-man-nee' which makes it sound like a chav-name, so I'm sticking with 'Sha-mee-nee').
