07/07/06 - Help me! I'm still damn well unemployed. This is dragging out so much, Tesco have rejected me, Asda have rejected me, no reply from Sainsburys yet, the £90 I thought I'd get from that crappy factory work had £20 tax on it, and I seem to be drifting further from Asia than getting any closer. Why must I be cursed to life in this stupid, corrupt little country, there's nothing for me here! I had a life in Malaysia, where I'd go out and see people, but now I spend more time with my PC than human life, which is completly depressing. Fortunately I did manage to breath a little of the fresh air this week after a last minute invite to the Hampton Court Flower Show from James and Sharon, as Simon was sick. The Photography Section for it will come very soon, not like I have anything else to do. But the coincidence in it lyed in my mother and aunty being there at the same time, though we didn't see each other. So that's all I have to cry about for the moment, hopefully next week will bring a ray of hope for my sanity... 14/07/06 - What a more interesting week it's been... Went up to London with my brother for his birthday on Wednesday, going round Camden (buying yet another bandana, and also taking the chance the add a little to the Photography Section) and Leicester Square. It's much more exciting in London as there's such an international feel to the place. Going into McDonalds, the mostly Asian staff were trying to serve a Korean customer, and trying to find someone who speaks their language. And whilst relaxing on the grass in Leicester Square, there was an East Asian toddler running riot, taking everyone's rubbish (and even trying to take my empty McFlurry pot). And of course seeing Pirates of the Caribbean (the day before the Superman premiere), but that still doesn't mean I don't miss Malaysia! I've been in contact the past week with Pastor Elisha, who runs the sister church of the Community of Praise in Tamil Nadu, South India. He's invited me to join a mass healings (mass as in approximately 5,000 people attending) at the end of this month. Despite how much I'd love to join him (the Healing Rally in KL was good, healed a pain in my right foot), I don't quite have the cash to get involved, even if I did get £250 back off of World Challenge this week. I'm happy now that the whole issue is settled between us and World Challenge now, I guess there's no hard feelings... No hard feelings? Is that to be meant in the terms of Anne Jones? After my termination and after a 'no hard feelings' she continues to bad mouth me and want me deported. So is this how it's all going to work out? No, I'll refrain from that method, it's what caused all that trouble in the first place... Still unsuccessful employment wise, but I've signed on for Job Seekers at last (really should have done that a lot sooner, that's several weeks of a little extra cash lost), but won't start getting anything till the end of the month though. Will try and do by best to be 'home for Christmas' (home being Malaysia) this year again. Must find out if Taman Wahyu will have another trip to Desa Water Park organised again this year, that was probably the best day I had from my whole trip. And Happy Birthday to Durga Devi (Laksamana) from Saturday, it's a shame I couldn't be there like I usually was every Saturday, I'll be back soon. Stay happy, stay healthy... I miss hugs and love from children, I'm making use of li'l Sam from church (who's the same age as Simeon) for that but it's just not the same... I miss you, Taman Wahyu!!! 21/07/06 - One good thing about keeping a blog is being able to pin point exactly when those 'landmark' occasions in your life happen. Though I didn't start this blog until April 2005, I can atleast pinpoint the end event of something I haven't had in four years... a haircut! Yes, on the xth of July 2002, some time before I went to Namibia, I had my hair cut short, so short that I hid the embarrasment under a hat for the whole month that I was out there. Now, four years on... Oh rats, I didn't measure it before I got it cut... but anyway, it was getting ridiculously long and kept getting itself in annoying ringlets, but now it's still of long appearance, but at a more mature length, and I actually prefer it this way now. Check out the before and after pics below... The Sims 2: Big Brother 4 is finally over, after five nagging weeks of work, and well done to Tanja Inn, creator of Ava, on winning the show. And now the 'second winner' will move onto Sim Media's Sim Brother in three weeks, which should be another 'landmark' occasion in terms of media in The Sims community. But hopefully I can still keep you regular viewers entertained, it's not as if I have work to get in my way. Still unemployed, but finally on Job Seeker's Allowance, which I should have sorted so much sooner. I'll remember next time, this is the first time I've actually looked for a job properly. Just looking for that opportunity to escape and rejoin my 'other' family in Malaysia. I miss them so much... After the 'sweet' 'moment' with the little East Asian in Leicester Square last week, I had another very young girl get distracted by me, but I didn't have the same feelings for her as I did for the East Asian girl. But this one was white, I'm unimpressed. But my attention was distracted by an Indian/South Asian girl who reminded me of Dharsini II and III. I miss you all so much, I'll be coming home for Christmas, and maybe more if I can get my way around it. Enjoy the before and after pics of me and my new haircut on the Photography page! 28/07/06 - Isn't it ironic, I've gone two months unemployed and not earning, then in the space of three weeks I sign onto Job Seeker's Allowance and get four job interviews. This week I got an interview with a Shoe Shop in a local Shopping Outlet, today I had an interview with good old Sainsburys, then next week I've got an interview with TK Maxx (clothes company, I think) and some Architect place in Canterbury... Would have been nice if this all came sooner (especially the Job Seekers, with all the time I've had off)... Even more irony... browsing through the galleries of TrekEarth, I found a very interesting picture of a familiar girl... The photo on the left, below, was one I took in March of the kids at the Killing Fields in Cambodia, asking nicely for a photo, then begging for money (in a horrid whine tone of a voice). It was interesting to see another photo of this girl from another photographer, below right and strange to see the same three finger pose in both, which you can see on the Photography page. I guess hanging out near the tourist areas, asking for photos and money, makes her a little celebrity...
