02/06/06 - My second week in the weird land apparently called the 'British Isles'. One of the strangest sights so far has to be... my own family? I think it must have been at least a year since I last saw my cousins, and seeing them again seemed stranger than meeting with some of the Indian kids at Taman Wahyu for the first time. I haven't fully developed my tolerance for white people yet (in appearance, and sometimes in character), or Asians with English accents (something I encountered yesterday when I went to Cantebury (and I went to Canterbury to buy a giant Malaysian flag)). It'll be interesting over the coming months noticing the differences between people from Ashford Baptist Church and Taman Wahyu, especially comparing the kids, who I still dearly miss. Happy Birthday Dharsini I (turned five on Wednesday 31st May)!

Despite being here two weeks, I still remain unemployed and with no knowledge of what my future job could be. Still waiting for a reply from the MAF, though if I don't get this office job I'll try and get in with the company through a different department. Whatever gets me out the country is fine with me. Is there anyone out there that wants to send me to Indonesia, they just had another earthquake. And it just so happens to be close to Malaysia, how convienient.

And a lot of changes to the site this week. If you've been watching closely enough at the design, you might get a hint that I've been using the same template for most of the designing. I think it's nicer to give things a similar feel rather than encountering a load of different menus all within one site. Other sections will also slowly be changing as I progress past other work on the site. And some of you may have noticed the SIMTV logo change, that's mainly because the font I used for the word SIM has now expired from Microsofts font list. So should I just go with all the common font styles like everyone else then?

09/06/06 - Week Three in the UK and I'm still unemployed. The MAF have turned me down, probably due to my lack of experience. I've noticed most jobs require experience, but how are you supposed to get any when you can't get a job anywhere? I'm trying to think of options that will get me to Malaysia/Southern Asia faster and to stay their longer. One is missionary work, but the other is possibly doing a university course. This is only a premature plan at the moment, but I didn't really get a great deal from the three years of studying after my GCSEs. But having a qualification in Malaysia should get me a good job in Malaysia, so hopefully I might be able to stay out there longer still.

But homesickness sunk in again whilst watching the Sport Relief tour of India. I recorded it and kept pausing it whenever it showed some Tamil writing, and I was also able to understand a little of what some of the Indians were saying, minus the help from the English voices speaking over it...

The World Cup started this week, but though Malaysia aren't in it (and came no where near to qualifying), their national flag is visible from my bedroom window. But it's an adequate place for it to be put before I make some space on my bedroom wall for it to go. Something else starting next week is my fourth series of The Sims: Big Brother. I've managed to do a lot of preparation for it in the three straight weeks that I've been glued to this PC, and an intro will be coming very soon. It should get off to a better start this time, unlike the six week delay on the last series, and hopefully shouldn't come under too much interference if I do happen to get a job...

16/06/06 - Week Four in the Big Huckle House, and I'm still damn unemployed! This is annoying me, and I'm feeling like a fool for saying to the folks at Taman Wahyu that I'd be back in September. But whatever happens, I AM going back for Christmas for a minimum of six weeks, but I still need to put some research into the Malaysian University plan. This week was bad enough being completly home alone, with my parents spending the week in Venice. I spent the whole week being a true geek, in all forms of the stereotypical gags they have for them. And what has it brought? Well, lets just hope The Sims 2: Big Brother 4 is a sucess, and the vast work I've done on the Photography section, or it will be a wasted week.

I've turned to prayer with people at church to try and help solve my unemployment woes, but I have this feeling that prayer at Taman Wahyu would work much better. The other week we had 'Korean prayer', which putting it in the Asian catergory, I thought that it would be kind of like the prayer at TW, but I don't think He heard us. I felt like bursting out with the multiple spell of words like the Indian prayer, but it was all quite and traditionally slow. And what about people screaming during the singing? Oh, I miss it all so much. Someone take me home!

23/06/06 - Guess what, I haven't got a job (re-read that sentence)! Why does it take so much to get a job? Why do all companies require experience? If all companies want experience there will be none to give that opportunity of experience in itself, it's damn stupid. I'm a post-Gap Year youth, looking for a temporary job to get some money so I can go and do some missionary work (or just get out this country). I don't care if I do cheap labour, I just want to be earning and doing something. I'm probably exactly what a number of companies are looking for (job and missionary wise), yet the two of us haven't quite matched ourselves up yet.

A few things I noticed in the media, if you look back on my February Malaysia Blog, in the time that I was in Port Dickson, you'll notice I watched a movie called Fearless. And four months later it only just gets released in UK cinemas, whilst I watched it on DVD with Mazlan (pirated, of course). Another Malaysia based thing, the Malaysian courts in Putrajaya turned away Cherie Blair. Good. Anything else? Dakotah's gone from The Sims 2: Big Brother 4, with only 54% of the vote. I'm quite happy with how this series is going so far, but it's a lot less tedious making the episodes now that the game runs a lot faster on my PC. But I'm also extremely keen to get working on some other projects too, but hopefully I can whip up a Sim Music Video or two during this SimsBB series, and get the Photography Section to my full liking (will I ever get that section to a satisfactory state?).

30/06/06 - Finally! I got some work this week and finally earnt a bit of money. Just a shame I was working in a factory on minimum wage. I have to say though, despite working two and a bit days, I'm glad my time there is over, my fingers were starting to go a bit rough, and it was just getting generally boring and tedious. Who would have thought packing magazines could be so... Nah, I won't comment, it was interesting so watch the machines work, and I guess doing basic jobs repetitively made the work less challenging, but it's just not the job for me, mainly because I have GCSEs (that joke could cause offence, oh well). It's just a shame I didn't claim Job Seekers Allowance sooner (as in three weeks ago), that would have been just a little bit extra cash. But hopefully it will be off to Sainsburys again, if they'll rehire me (they put up with me for four years)...

Nothing much else to say, still missing Malaysia and Taman Wahyu. I have a few World Phone Cards that I couldn't use in Malaysia (though I could in Thailand and Indonesia), though I can here. I think I have about an hours talk time on them, combining all three. Had a nice quick chat with Victoria today, just before she went to the Friday Service... The visitor count for this site has been quite impressive lately. Since the start of TS2BB4 there have been over 100 visitors a day, and over 10,000 hits per day, pretty impressive. I'd best keep up the good work, considering Sim Media's Sim Brother is now delayed, and Sim Sister is currently on pause. I hate being a dependency...
