July:

06/07/07 - You never know when your aspirations will change. I went to a careers advice centre again this week, to talk about what options I'll have if I emigrate to Asia. I was advised to stay away from any kind of formal business work, and go more towards aid work, and the suggestion of nursing came up, which hadn't crossed my mind before. I can't say teaching is my speciality, but I have a lot of paitence (with people, not with time itself) and a caring nature, so it could be an ideal path to take...

I bought a music CD of some Tamils from India who performed at the Palmers Green church on Sunday. Karlita and Little Enok (there are two at PG) seem to be my new Shamini and Eswaren (who've moved away from Laksamana). They're both of similar age and personality, Shamini and Karlita were both cautious in getting to know me, and Eswa and Enok have a cheeky personality. It's just a shame the fun of PG only lasts me a week, the second week just gets boring...

Still working hard at the phones factory, but I'm not getting paid all that I'm owed. I prefer to take the odd day off of work rather than a whole week, so I don't have to adapt back to my job (though I have nothing to do to fill a week anyway), but it's proving too complicated for the payroll, and I'm not getting everything I'm owed. It's a shame really, as I've worked quite hard this week, and keep working above my targets. Atleast I'm frequently offered overtime, but I think I'll be shattered tomorrow after a 50 hour week...

13/07/07 - I've decided to cool it this week on doing any over time at work. I was ill on Monday, possibly due to doing 50 hours (not much to some) last week, though I didn't take a sick day. I'd rather be out and doing something than being bored at home. But despite overworking myself a bit last week, the wage packet I received today made it worth while.

Saw Le Tour De France pass through Ashford on Sunday. It was nice just to see something happen through the town, though the main 'showcase' only lasted just a few seconds, but the sponsors that ran through beforehand were amusing. But it took until Thursday for the guard rails to be cleared up in my local area. So after a hard working fortnight, I'll be enjoying my weekend seeing my friend Scott, who just got back from his travels round Singapore and Australia (though he didn't get to go to Johor), and then Palmers Green on Sunday.

20/07/07 - Certainly had a fun weekend this past week (though the one coming probably won't be). Saw Scott (who I first became friends with in Namibia, which was almost five years ago) on Saturday, who had just come back from Australia. After a slideshow of his photos, we went round Folkestone town, where they had a small market and fair going on. They had a bungee jump there, though on health and safety grounds, it was better for them to do it over concrete than over the sea...

There was a baptism at Palmers Green this week, with two people getting baptised. They had a baptism pool under the stage, just like the Ashford church. I've been invited to help out with a fun day they want to do with the kids next month. It's nice to be given all these opportunities, though I need to try hard in delivering back. But it was yet another bad journey home from PG, as I got completly soaked in a rain storm. But after taking shelter under a tree and praying to God, the rain thankfully stopped, though it didn't get me any drier...

27/07/07 - July is almost over, but summer still hasn't properly settled. It's quite bad that there have been so many floods across the UK over the summer, I don't know what we would do if our house was flooded. I wouldn't mind enjoying the four months of warm weather the UK gets every year, but it's mostly been cold and wet. Hopefully I can escape the worst of the winter again by going to Asia for the third straight year...

I'm having a bit of difficulty choosing which career path to go down for the future. After the suggestion of nursing, I also looked down other routes that would be a neccesity to people round poor countries, and engineering seems to be another good route to go down. It's just a shame that teaching is the only short term course, around six weeks; everything else takes around three years. Then it's a case of when, I really don't feel mentally prepared to start studying in a months time. I wouldn't mind working and travelling (gaining more experience along the way) a bit more first.

But whilst trying to figure out my future, I've also been quite busy with this site, mainly the Photography Section, adding a new poll system. I finally got my first 'pay cheque' from Google of US$100, from when I put up advertising back in October. I really need to be keeping myself busy with anything in my free time, just to stop myself getting bored. I've been back five months now, but there's still another three more until I can go anywhere again. But the weekend is set with The Simpsons Movie on Saturday, and Palmers Green on Sunday, so atleast I have a fun weekend coming up...
